Jeremy Burtch, LPC

Jeremy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and has been for the past 16+ years.   After graduate school, he worked as a case manager for adults in a county agency, and then as a therapist for adolescents in a residential treatment facility in Colorado for 2 years.

After the birth of his son, he moved back to Wisconsin and worked in a private clinic in Milwaukee doing in-home and outpatient therapy for children and adolescents. He shifted gears and became involved in case management with a treatment foster care agency. While doing this, he realized he missed the enjoyment and rewards of doing therapy with children and families. He became involved with an Oregon, WI based private practice in 2004, where he focused on in-home and outpatient services.  In 2007, he became co-owner of that clinic.  In 2009 he and his business partner opened a branch office in Jefferson, and he began seeing members in the Jefferson and surrounding communities.

Today, Jeremy is the owner of Restoring Balance Counseling, LLC.

Jeremy is a married father of 2 and former foster parent of many children, and enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends.

He believes that performing effective therapy does not come from a “cookie cutter” mentality.  What works for one client or family may not work for another:

“A therapist needs to be flexible in his/her approach and adapt to what works best for the client.  Being non-judgmental and accepting of people for whom they are and where they are in life, helps build trust, rapport, and the potential to make long lasting positive changes.”

Tamie Roberts, LPC

Tamie is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and has been for the past 17+ years.  Prior to working  in the Jefferson area, Tamie worked in the Milwaukee area in private practice and child welfare for 11+ years.

Tamie works with children, adolescents, adults and couples struggling with emotional,  behavioral and relationship difficulties.

Many of the clients she works with are struggling with depression, mood, and anxiety issues. She feels that people may act out their feelings, whether outwardly through disruptive or aggressive behaviors towards others, or turn their hurt and anger on themselves through self-harm behaviors. Helping people learn coping skills and healthy ways of expressing themselves, along with family involvement, Tamie offers a full circle of support for healthy life changes.

Tamie uses a variety of therapeutic approaches in a safe and non-judgemental atmosphere. For children and adolescents, she often uses play therapy, journaling, and talk therapy. For adults, she often uses cognitive-behavioral and solution focused therapy approaches.  She assesses where the client is at and works with them as a team to achieve their goals.

Tamie has been working in the Jefferson community for the past 6+ years with a different agency but has enjoyed the atmosphere so much that she didn't want to leave, and has joined Jeremy at Restoring Balance Counseling, LLC to keep her ties to the community that she has been a part of for years.

Kimberly Heine, LPC

Kim is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and has experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults. Before coming to Restoring Balance, she worked in the community and school settings providing Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient services.

Kim has specific training in the area of trauma, and is Nationally Certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

(TF-CBT).

Fun fact, before jumping into the mental health field, Kim worked as a store manager for the well-known retail store, “Bath and Body Works” She worked in the retail field for almost eight years before settling down and starting a family. I guess this experience may have led her to try and understand and help individuals after working with many different and interesting people while in customer service.

When asked what best describes their mom, Kim's 4th grade son said "crazy and lovable," and her 5-year-old daughter said “She is a lion” Not really sure what that means.

Kim feels that the most important part of providing therapy is developing trust and comfort. Opening up about difficult subjects is not going to happen easily unless a person feels comfortable and has trust in the therapist. Kim has a very soft and empathetic approach to counseling.  She also has lots of fun and exciting approaches to keeping children engaged and benefiting

 from therapy.

Kim lives in the Jefferson area and has been married for 12 years, has 2 children, and loves to spend quiet time with her family and friends. Kim also enjoys being creative and making lots of home décor DIY projects and crafty stuff with her children.

Kim holds a different full-time job in her field, but missed the one on one aspect of outpatient therapy. She will begin working for Restoring Balance LLC in March of 2019.

Kim provides a very warm, supportive and relaxed environment to her clients. She is looking forward to continuing to help others access the benefits of healing one's self to achieve a more joy-filled and balanced life.
